Deterring an Active Threat
Train Where Real Threats Happen - YOUR Building
Deterring an Active Threat Training is a comprehensive, scenario-based program developed for churches, businesses, schools, and private-sector organizations seeking to increase preparedness, strengthen team coordination, and create safer environments for staff, visitors, and community members.
We take a realistic, hands-on approach by bringing our instructors directly into your facility and—when appropriate and approved—utilizing blank gunfire to create the sensory stress of real-world conditions. This allows your team to experience how sound behaves in your hallways, rooms, offices, and sanctuary spaces, giving you unmatched insight into your building's security strengths and weaknesses.

3-Hour Class
Classroom Instruction (1 Hour)
Your team starts with a focused, instructor-led briefing covering:
-
Current nationwide active threat trends
-
Lessons learned from recent incidents
-
Behavioral indicators and pre-attack warning signs
-
Roles, responsibilities, and communication during emergencies
This session builds the foundation for what your organization needs to know before developing or updating response plans.
2. Skills Development (1 Hour)
Participants learn and practice the core components of the Run, Hide/Barricade, Fight model.
We teach effective, practical techniques your team can use immediately, including:
-
Prioritizing rapid evacuation
-
Improvised barricading methods
-
Coordinated team movement
-
Disruption strategies when escape and hiding are no longer options
This hour is dynamic, confidence-building, and essential for effective response.
3. Realistic Role-Play Scenarios (1 Hour)
Your final hour puts everything together in scenario-based training using your actual building layout.
Mantis TitanX G45 laser pistols will be supplied to all students along with holsters for the scenarios.
Our instructors run controlled, stress-inoculated role-play exercises—some with blank gunfire (optional)—to test:
-
How your team applies the Run/Hide/Barricade/Fight principles
-
Movement and communication under pressure
-
Response gaps based on real building features
-
Decision-making as a unified team
This is where your team sees the true vulnerabilities in your facility and learns how to fix them. The insights gained here are often the most valuable part of the entire training.
